Structured Programs

At Greenwood Taekwon-Do & Self Defense, our carefully structured programs are designed to bring out the very best in every student. For our younger students, our program strives to:

1. Build Confidence that enables students to achieve higher goals.

2. Increase concentration that very often pays off in the form of better grades in school.

3. Develop coordination and balance that will improve performance in many other activities.

4. Develop self-discipline that will give students the power to resist the many bad influences that face todays youth.

The instruction team at Greenwood Taekwon-Do & Self Defense is headed by Grandmaster D.J. Sias. All assistant instructors have been personally trained by Grandmaster Sias, and have the patience, skill, and dedication to bring out the best in every student.

In addition to our conventional martial arts classes, we offer:

1. Adult and executive classes

2. Private instruction (on a limited basis)

3. The all new non-contact cardio-martial arts exercise work, known as "OSB" (One Step Beyond).

Grandmaster Sias, a veteran of over three decades in the martial arts, has trained students at every level. He instructs the Korean art of Taekwon-Do as taught by Grandmaster S.L. Kopperud, President of Unified Taekwon-Do International, and 9th degree Grandmaster Rhin Moon (Richard) Chun, President of the United States Tae Kwon Do Association. Grandmaster Sias also instructs classes in close quarter self defense (Jui-Jutsu), Oriental weaponry (Kobudo), and art of the Samurai Sword (Iaido).

Grandmaster Sias presently holds a 7th degree black belt and has promoted over 100 students to black belt. In addition to being the Chief Instructor of Greenwood Taekwon-Do, he serves as Chairman of the Board for the Southern Martial Arts Championships, and the Southern Regional Representative for Unified Taekwon-Do International, and the United States Tae Kwon Do Association. Grandmaster Sias has also had professional affiliation and membership with: The American Combat Arts Association, The All American Karate Federation, The World Self-Defense Federation, The International & Untied States Taekwon-Do Federation, and The International Taekwon-Do Association.
