Headquarters for the Southern Martial Arts Championships is located in the historic delta town of Greenwood, Mississippi. This state of the art facility is also the home of Greenwood Taekwon-Do & Self Defense. Greenwood Taekwon-Do & Self Defense has been a fixture in the delta area for over two decades. We offer professional instruction in the martial arts, and have helped hundreds of students develop skills and positive traits that will help them their entire lives.

Structured Programs

At Greenwood Taekwon-Do & Self Defense, our carefully structured programs are designed to bring out the very best in every student. For our younger students, our program strives to:

Expert Instruction

The instruction team at Greenwood Taekwon-Do & Self Defense is headed by Grandmaster D.J. Sias. All assistant instructors have been personally trained by Grandmaster Sias, and have the patience, skill, and dedication to bring out the best in every student.

Additional Programs

In addition to our conventional martial arts classes, we offer:

1. Adult and executive classes

2. Private instruction (on a limited basis)

3. The all new non-contact cardio-martial arts exercise work, known as "OSB" (One Step Beyond).

Chief Instructor -
Grand Master DJ Sias

Grandmaster D.J. Sias is a veteran of over 4 decades in the martial arts, and has trained students at every level, up to and including the Master level.  He presently holds an 9th Degree Black Belt, and has promoted over 170 students to Black Belt.

In addition to being the Chief Instructor of Greenwood Taekwon-Do, he has served as the chairman of the Board for Southern Martial Arts Inc., since it’s inception in 1983.

Having been a tournament competitor as well as an instructor, he has had membership and professional affiliation with several martial arts organizations and associations.
Grandmaster Sias also instructs classes in close quarter self defense, (Jui-Jutsu) oriental weaponry (kobudo) and the art of the Samurai Sword (Iaido).
